Application Security Engineer (up to AVP)

A leading global financial institute is looking to hire an experienced Application Security Engineer who would be involved in ensuring the soundness of application security for the applications in the firm. This role will sit within an Application Security team which is responsible for running security related processes during the software development life cycle.

The incumbent will be involved in reviewing code for security vulnerabilities and improve or embed security threat modelling and secure coding within the development cycle. The Application Security Engineer will also help to assess the effectiveness of current and potential controls in regards to application security technologies - e.g. Static and Dynamic Source Code Analysis, Web Application Firewalls, Vulnerability Management, Penetration Testing, etc. The individual in this position will also be involved in providing advice to the development, technology and business teams with regard to secure application design, development and integration risks and vulnerabilities.

To be successful in this role, one needs to have:
* Proven, hands on experience of secure application development
* Applied knowledge of web application security vulnerabilities (OWASP Top Ten, SANS Top 25, et al)
* Experience with source code analysis and interactive application security testing products (Burp Suite, Metasploit, et al)
* Strong understanding of network security fundamentals
* Awareness of database and database server vulnerabilities
* Knowledge of security models and frameworks
