One UK Limited began operations in Singapore in August 1969 as a regional sales and marketing office for Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia. The first products sold were mainly industrial chemicals. The agricultural chemicals business management function was relocated from Hong Kong to Singapore in 1973, the year Singapore became the regional headquarters for what was known as Southern Asia.
